The story of Ilyas in the Qur’an

وَإِنَّ إِلْيَاسَ لَمِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ

So also was Elias among those sent (by Us)

اور بے شک الیاس رسولوں میں سے تھا،

إِذْ قَالَ لِقَوْمِهِۦٓ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ

Behold, he said to his people, "Will ye not fear (Allah)

جب اس نے اپنی قوم سے کہا: کیا تم ڈرتے نہیں؟

ٱللَّهَ رَبَّكُمْ وَرَبَّ ءَابَآئِكُمُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ

Allah, your Lord and Cherisher and the Lord and Cherisher of your fathers of old

اللہ کو جو تمہارا رب ہے اور تمہارے پہلے باپ دادا کا رب ہے؟

فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَإِنَّهُمْ لَمُحْضَرُونَ

But they rejected him, and they will certainly be called up (for punishment)

تو انہوں نے اسے جھٹلایا، تو وہ ضرور (عذاب میں) حاضر کیے جائیں گے،

إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ

Except the sincere and devoted Servants of Allah (among them)

سوائے اللہ کے چنے ہوئے بندوں کے۔

وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ فِى ٱلْءَاخِرِينَ

And We left (this blessing) for him among generations (to come) in later times

اور ہم نے بعد والوں میں اس کا ذکرِ خیر چھوڑا:

سَلَٰمٌ عَلَىٰٓ إِلْ يَاسِينَ

Peace and salutation to such as Elias

الیاس پر سلام ہو۔

إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ

Thus indeed do We reward those who do right

Thus indeed do we reward those who do right

إِنَّهُۥ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

For he was one of our believing Servants

بے شک وہ ہمارے مومن بندوں میں سے تھا۔
