The story of Idris in the Qur’an

Episodes of the story

The Qur’an calls him «ṣiddīqan nabiyyā», truthful, a prophet, and says: We raised him to a high station.

Qur’an references 19:56-57

All the ayaat (2)

19:56 Maryam Key ayah

وَٱذْكُرْ فِى ٱلْكِتَٰبِ إِدْرِيسَ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ صِدِّيقًا نَّبِيًّا

Also mention in the Book the case of Idris: He was a man of truth (and sincerity), (and) a prophet

اور کتاب میں ادریس کا ذکر کیجیے، بے شک وہ بہت سچے نبی تھے۔

19:57 Maryam

وَرَفَعْنَٰهُ مَكَانًا عَلِيًّا

And We raised him to a lofty station

اور ہم نے اسے بلند مقام پر اٹھایا۔

He is named with Isma’il and Dhul-Kifl among the patient and the righteous, whom Allah admitted into His mercy.

Qur’an references 21:85-86

21:85 Al-Anbiya Key ayah

وَإِسْمَٰعِيلَ وَإِدْرِيسَ وَذَا ٱلْكِفْلِ كُلٌّ مِّنَ ٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ

And (remember) Isma'il, Idris, and Zul-kifl, all (men) of constancy and patience

اور اسماعیل، ادریس اور ذوالکفل، سب صبر کرنے والوں میں سے تھے۔

21:86 Al-Anbiya

وَأَدْخَلْنَٰهُمْ فِى رَحْمَتِنَآ إِنَّهُم مِّنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ

We admitted them to Our mercy: for they were of the righteous ones

اور ہم نے انہیں اپنی رحمت میں داخل کیا، بے شک وہ نیکوں میں سے تھے۔
