This website and app are published by Meem Ain Studio.

In short

There are no accounts, no ads, and no data is ever sold. We do not collect your name, phone number or location. The only personal information we ever receive is what you choose to send us in a feedback message.

Information stored on your device

Reading settings, colours and dark mode, saved ayaat, notes, highlights, collections, progress, memorisation (hifz) records, daily goals and recently viewed pages are stored only in your browser’s or the app’s local storage. Pages, translations and recitations that you download for offline use are also stored only on your device. None of this is sent to us. You can remove items from “My Library”, or delete everything by clearing the browser’s or app’s data. Any backup file you download stays only with you.

Feedback you send

If you use the feedback form (☰ More → Feedback), the message you write, the type of feedback, the page and, only if you choose to fill them in, your phone model and email address are sent to us through Netlify Forms. We use them only to read your feedback, reply if you asked us to, and improve the app. We do not share them or use them for marketing. To have a message deleted, email us. If you choose to send feedback by WhatsApp or email instead, those services’ own policies apply.

Voice search

If you tap 🎤 to search by voice, your phone’s or browser’s speech recognition service (for example Google) turns your speech into text, under that service’s own privacy policy. The app receives only the resulting text to search with; we do not receive or store any audio. Voice search is optional, and it only works after you allow the microphone.

Anonymous usage statistics (GoatCounter)

To improve the app we use GoatCounter, a privacy-friendly service that uses no cookies and collects no personal information. It shows only anonymous, aggregate counts of which pages are viewed and which features are used (for example search words, recitation, flashcards or sharing), without identifying you. Words typed into the search box (up to 60 characters) are counted anonymously, so please don’t type personal details there. The text of your notes or saved items is never sent.

Other services

The app is hosted on Netlify; like any ordinary web request, Netlify may receive your IP address for technical reasons. Fonts are included in the app and are not loaded from other services. Recitations are streamed or downloaded from EveryAyah.com, which may likewise receive your IP address. When you open links to Quran.com or WhatsApp, their own policies apply.

Children

The app is suitable for all ages. Using it requires no personal information from anyone, including children. The email field in the feedback form is optional.
